Filtering Airborne Particles - Using N95 Particulate Respirators Safely

Most people who want to safeguard themselves in specific conditions use N95 Respirators to achieve this aim. These devices help to prevent pathogens from entering the buccal or nasal cavity and the lungs.
In this way, they also keep bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms from causing harm in other areas inside the body. In some sectors, they are the gear of choice and are required wear under health and safety regulations.

People who use this equipment to keep their lungs and the rest of their body safe should remember that it is not a hundred percent effective against all harmful particles, whether these are organic or inorganic. You cannot trust a mask to protect you completely under any conditions. The Center for Disease Control reminds users that the products filter over ninety percent of airborne substances but it cannot catch them all.

Always pay close attention to additional instructions regarding a physical enclosure. Sometimes, the concentration of a particular element in the air is too high and this may reduce the effectiveness of the mask.
There are also external environmental conditions that can negatively affect how well the device functions. In all situations, check with your team leader before entering a building and make sure you stick to rules that are set regarding exposure.

Safety gear is to protect you under normal conditions. It also cuts down on injuries when things go wrong. However it is up to you to ensure that you use it as it was designed to be utilized so that you get all the benefits from it.
